WWW.TOPTEN.INFO provides two services:
- www.topten.info is a portal providing access to many consumer-oriented online search tools which display the most efficient appliances and cars in many European countries. Find out with a simple click what are the best products available in your country!
Providing a selection of the most energy efficient products, including pictures and functional specification of each product displayed, the Topten websites help consumers to find the information they need to choose among thousands of refrigerators, TVs, cars and other kinds of appliances.
The www.topten.info portal presently gives access to 13 national Topten websites and identifies the most energy efficient products available in Europe today, shows these products and their main functionalities. By the end of the year, 4 more Topten national websites will also be on line (Norway, Greece, Lithuania and Romania). All these countries work together within the Topten International Group association and the Euro-Topten Plus project. - The website also presents "Best Products of Europe": a selection of the most efficient household appliances, office equipment, energy saving lamps, circulation pumps and cars that are currently available. New categories will be added regularly. 'Best of Europe' is the only European review on the most efficient appliances which presents a status quo on best available technologies on the European market. Policy recommendations are also presented.
Topten's information mainly targets consumers and large buyers. Topten is rigorous and transparent (the selection methodology is available online), independent from producers and commercial distributors and relies on neutral tests and analysis of independent institutions, labels and on standardized declarations by manufacturers.
All Topten websites provide a selection of appliances, with pictures, functions, price and average costs over product life. Energy efficiency is the major selection criteria, together with impact on the environment, health and quality.
